Week 5:

Hello Everyone, thanks for another great week of Spring photos! Check them out on our Flickr Page!

Sometimes it seems like the leaves sprout on the trees overnight this time of year...but I think if you pay close attention this week you’ll see them slowly starting to unfurl on their branches, depending on what species they are and how much direct sunlight they receive. Here’s our new list for this week:

  1. Newly emerging leaves

  2. Branches blowing in the wind

  3. A natural body of water (pond, creek, river, etc.)

  4. seagull

  5. Vinca (purple flowers that cover the ground along vines with small oval shaped leaves)

Once you’ve collected pictures of as many of these things as you can find, send them to me at scott.saleem@jpkidsarts.org and I will add them to our very own online photo album! Submissions will be due by next Monday. Check back to see what our group comes up with.

Week 4:

They say April showers bring May flowers, but it’s not even halfway through April and plenty of flowers are already in bloom! As we go further into the spring we’ll start noticing more colorful variety in our landscape. Without further ado, here’s the new list for this week:

  1. Azalea (bright flowers on bushes with small teardrop shaped leaves)

  2. Tulips

  3. Dandelions

  4. Blackbirds

  5. Any plant growing from a crack in the sidewalk

Once you’ve collected pictures of as many of these things as you can find, send them to me at scott.saleem@jpkidsarts.org and I will add them to our very own online photo album! Submissions will be due by next Monday. Check back to see what our group comes up with.
