Administrative Assistant Intern Job Description
Administrative Interns will work with the office staff to perform a variety of entry-level administrative staff duties .

Administrative Assistant Interns will gain the experience in the following areas:

  • Learn skills Non-Profit management.
  • Manage office duties–supplies, phone calls and messages, U.S. mail, general email.
  • Become familiar with the overall activities, programs, mission of KidsArts
  • Coordinate monthly events, special events, board meetings, organizational meetings, parties and gift giving.
  • Procure supplies and in-kind donations and manage relationships with in-kind donors.
  • Send thank you letters and correspondences with donors.
  • Help to enter data and maintain accuracy of donor database, volunteer database, partner database.
  • Assist with the development of KidsArts marketing, PR and product materials (print & online).
  • Work with the KidsArts office staff to provide updates to website

Summer Interns Job Descriptions

Program Intern

Program Interns at KidsArts will gain experience working with diverse groups of children from the Boston area. The ideal candidates are people with interest and experience in creative and collaborative work environments, flexibility, and the ability to take personal initiative in a team setting. Prior experience working with school age children is beneficial, although not required. The internship is available for college credit or for no college credit. The internship is unpaid.

The Program Intern responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the staff and children during group activities, including playtime, snack time, lunch time and quiet time.  Interns will have the option of developing and leading group activities with staff supervision.
  • Help facilitate the set-up, clean-up and facilitation of workshops in the visual and/or performing arts.
  • Assist in chaperoning off-site field trips (garden, swimming, museums, beaches, etc.) and ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing in transitions inside and outside of KidsArts.
  • Assist staff in preparing and distributing snack.
  • Be committed to maintaining consistent schedule.

Program Hours

The program is open from 8am – 6pm, Monday – Friday.
